my poor hubby is sick. he has a low grade fever, but is all cold and stuff.  I feel bad for him, hope that he gets well soon.  kayce slept with him all morning - i think that she could tell that he didn’t feel well.  he’s currently watching mash and drinking OJ. hopefully i can get him all well before he has to go to work on friday.  he hates his job, but we need him to work.  i wish that I made enough so that he could stay home.... ::cry::

ive spent most of my time lately adding little things to my website that most people won’t notice.  but it makes me happy that these things are here. im greasing wheels, but no else had even noticed the wheels needed their little shot of oil. ::wink::  and i guess that they didn’t really NEED it, but they run better now.  ok..enough with that annoying analogy.  I’ve been tweaking the css, and the layouts.  no need to list everything here, but lets just say i’ve been working hard AND hardly working.  ::laugh::

I have 11 skins now.  It should be working for everyone.  My entire site is skinned now, not just the index page.  the only thing that isn’t skinned is the comment pop up. there is a work around for that, but I don’t care so much :) When you select a skin it will be reflected on every page, with the exception of the comments and the alphabetical archives.  (I don’t know if I wanna change those yet.) I’ve even got two 800 by 600 skins - a black background one, and a white background one.  If you hover your mouse over the link for the skin you will get a little description of it. They are in the fruit/flowers theme.

my kitten, Kayce (kay-see), was SO sweet this morning. I woke up to her snuggled between my husband and me. she stayed that way for hours.  even when we petted her.  it was the sweetest thing.  we’ve been missing her kitty sweetness lately - shes been more spicy than sugary.  but this morning, all was good with my world.

I started going to Camp when I was 14.  I went for 11 years.  I am not going to camp this year.  And this is why.

I am tired of being treated like I am still 14.  Last year I asked if I could be something other than a counselor. I work daily with adults with developmental disabilities and I want to do something other than than.  I asked months before camp, hoping I could do something else. ANYTHING else. What I got - I got told “Don’t bother coming to camp if you don’t want to be a counselor. We only need counselors, and we don’t have enough.” And if that wasn’t bad enough, when i GOT to camp there were so many extra counselors we had two, TWO GIRL runners/fillers.  The runners were ‘first years’ - they hadn’t been to camp before and didn’t know diddily about diddly.  They were expected to fill it when life got to hard for another counselor. Yah. ok.

At camp, I am a smoker. It’s really stressful, and frankly smoking is a very good way to be social.  Rules were enforced that you could only smoke 4 times a day, and only one cig at a time.  Only after meals, and after lights out.  I understand that smoking is a bad habit, but gimme a break!

I am a grown woman. I know how much sleep I need. I know how to get by on only 2 hours of sleep. I went to college. I know time management. If I want to stay up way past my bed time and read/study/write whatever, I should be allowed to. Yet, if I was caught I could be asked to leave. WHAT?!? I am not disturbing anyway, and im not fucking sleepy.

All these rules were designed to keep me in line when I was 15. I am not 15 anymore. I am 25.  Treat me like I am 25.

Ideas have been presented to the board about how camp should be run, but because they have come from counselors they have been dismissed.  The volunteer counselors are what make this camp run, and they dismiss us out of hand.  We aren’t 15 anymore.

Camp is/was a big part of my life. It saddens me a great deal that I am now filled with so many angry and bitter memories from it.

This post has been edited from it’s original draft.  I had previously talked about a wedding that was supposed to happen at camp. My objects were completely misinterpreted from what I meant and I really pissed that couple off.  I removed the said portion because she asked me to and i was feeling charitable, not because I changed my mind. 

I still think it would have been a bad idea for them to have their wedding at camp. They didn’t have it at camp this year, so there isn’t really any reason for my to put my objections up here. I will say this though - my objections would have stood if were ANYONE else too. It had NOTHING to do with the couple in question.  It was NOT “nasty diatribe on {their} life’s decisions.” It was my objections to them planning and having an event about THEM at a camp designed to put the CAMPERS first - NOT about them just getting married. The counselors in question could have been JoeBob and TinaFay I STILL would have objected to them getting married AT camp. The fact that they wanted to have an event that was about THEM, and their lives, while INCLUDING the campers is what gets me. Camp is supposed to be ABOUT the campers and they INCLUDE us.  Not the other way round.

i saw the Matrix : Reloaded yesterday. it was ok. I like the 1st one better.  I would like to point out that I would have taken the red pill. I would have stayed in wonderland.  It this is a dream, I am ok with that. this movie is the second act in a three act play and as such I can’t wait until November.

well Sarah of TechTV says it’s ok for people to steal your style sheets.  she even gives directions on HOW to do it.  She gives step by step directions.

She is blatantly encouraging theft.  Yet she warns you to not steal hers.  Hers is already stolen.  It’s from blog styles

I looked at the css of other sites to learn. but never EVER to just steal the whole thing. It’s just wrong.

my birthday really has been like 4 days long.  It started Thursday. One of my clients took to my lunch at Ruby Tuesdays and I got to go see Flywheel at Gasoline Alley! :) Then on Friday another client got me a nice present, and I went to see River Chicken at the Mug.  They even sang happy birthday to me on stage. At midnight I called The Mr Q&0153; and he was the first person to wish me happy birthday.  Jackie bought me two shots, and it was a good time.  Yesterday, my actual birthday, I went to DancerBoynigans with Kirby and Chad. When The Mr Q&0153; got off work he came by too.  Today The Mr Q&0153; and I are going to lunch at this place called Crabby Bill’s then we are going to go see the Matrix - Reloaded. *FOR FREE*!  I know that people have sent me things I haven’t gotten yet, and my MIL Joyce feels bad that she forget, so this will be the birthday that just keeps coming! ::laugh::
