the Oscars™ are going to be starting in a little while and I wanted to get my predictions in now before it started. I am only going to make 9 predictions since 9 is my favorite #. I'll update this post to reflect the actually Oscar is presented. Let's see if I've really got the gift of foresight.

crap. i meant to post about this on Friday - but it slipped my mind. Friday the 27th of February is the 7 year anniversary of the night i had my first kiss with my husband. While making eggrolls in the Hudson Hall kitchen for an Ayyám-i-Há* program that I was giving to my floor - I kissed him. It was spontaneous and fun - and I had NO idea that it would lead to all of this. I've been with the Mr. Q™ longer than I've even been friends with most people in my life. We've had out ups & downs - and we aren't perfect. But we love each other. He is my best friend and I wouldn't know what, or how, to do with my life if he wasn't in it. I could have no idea that one quick kiss in a hot residence hall kitchen, would lead to this. My whole life. I am cheesy and I know it. I revel in my cheesiness. It's just fun to look at how that one kiss has changed my life. The picture is from where I wrote it in my day book - like I needed to For a couple of years we made eggrolls together on our anniversary. Of course, now that we're married, the Mr. Q™ doesn't consider this a real anniversary, but I still do; in my heart. It was the start of something good; something pure; something healthy. Which wasn't how my relationships has been before that. It was new; this good guy thing. Looking back it was probably the single most important kiss in my whole life. Other than maybe our first kiss as husband and wife. (I realized I lost that picture file in my haste to del an old old domain. CRAP!) That first kiss was the start of a whole new life. /end soap soliloquy. But, really, it's a very pleasant and heart warming memory - and I wanted to share it all with you.

*Ayyám-i-Há is a joyous festival during the last days of the Bahá'í year. The Bahá'í calendar is comprised of 19 months of 19 days each, which equals 361 days. Ayyám-i-Há are the Intercalary days of the year to make it equivalent to the solar year (365 days). Bahá'u'lláh specified that these days should be observed immediately prior to the 19 Day Fast. These days are a time of celebration, charity, hospitality and gift-giving.

I've got a photoblog now. this morning, before i went to bed, and while i was still a little i went into our junk room, turned on the pink floyd, and took a bunch of photos of myself. i was in my bra and my jeans and the light was really bright. ive got 9 photos up so far. go check em out - comment on them too. they are sort of artsy ones Luka's Pictures

i have a confession. my name is not Luka. well. if I were Hawaiian it would be Luka - but since I am hot from Hawaii, nor have I ever been there, or have any family from there, my name is NOT Luka. Luka is a pseudonym that I chose for myself - an alter ego if you will. Luka translates into my given name - which I am not going to share, even though some of you already know it. and here's why.

I had been thinking about getting a new domain for a while. I wanted to short of shield myself from people who knew my real name. It wasn't so much that I wanted to totally hide from those people - as my old domain does point here currently. i wanted an alter ego - a buffer between me and my offline life. it was so easy to google my name and find my site. that was sort of scary. currently there is no reason for my boss to search for me online, but in future..who knows? also - random family members could just find my blog and that was sort of disconcerting. i never knew when someone would stop by and read something I wrote. it happened many times. and not every time was it a good thing. i could have gone through all my entries and changed the names - but I just wanted a fresh start. here a incogblogo i want to challenge myself to be a better blog writer. that doesn't always happen - just check out some of my earlier smiley filled entries - - or my entries without correct caps usage - but at least I've got a goal ;)

i am still the same girl - my name is just a wee bit different. hell - ive still got my picture up. i might start doing some fictional work - but I would tell ya if I did that. thanks for playing along with my move and all this craziness.

i am no longer using the comment pop up. i decided that having the smileys show up was my goal; and this is how i accomplished it. also. i will most likely go smiley crazy in the next few days - now that ive added a smiley pop up to my entry screen i want to use every smiley ive got I should prolly add the inline "show comments" option - but i will have to find that tut first. I also need to fix my archives page. it looks all funky, and not the good kind of funky. i also want to add a listing of the months and of the category's - like on the side bar, but all laid out flat. looks like ive got lots and lots of work to do

I gave blood today (technically yesterday). I haven't given blood since I was in college. I think I've given blood now like 5 times. Every time it freaks me out. I didn't pass out today, or even get woozy. But I DID take pictures. My finger still hurts where the non smiling black lady poked it, but later she gave me a bow on my bandage, so we're cool.

one time i gave blood at the VEEERY end of a drive and I got like 20 free tickets to see the band Kansas. I was unable to go, but my brother and his friends had a great time. I got a t shirt that time too. I was wearing a blood drive t shirt when the Mr. Q™ proposed to me. The first time I gave blood in college it was on Halloween, another time on St Patty's day. My university likes to do the whole drunk holiday blood drive thing
