Best Date
Avatar for {name}
My best date would have been my sixteenth birthday last year (oh, you are all so old ) when Mr P took me out for dinner and then all the waiters came out with a cake with all these sparklers and a big bunch of roses. We were up on the indoor balcony bit and the whole restaurant was going 'Aw' when I gave him a kiss. I also saw a few husbands get a nudge as if to say 'Why don't you ever do anything like that for me?' Hee hee. It was the best

Oh, Good Lord

In college, my friends talked me into going on a date with a mutual friend. Now, this guy, let's call him Joe, was a big guy, deep voice, very masculine. We went to see The Green Mile. He started SOBBING halfway through the movie, cried all through intermission, and we had to sit in the theater for 5 minutes after the credits were done for him to "collect" himself. Now, I'm not saying that I never tear up at the movies, but good lord. The man was sobbing, big weeping tears. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do to not burst out laughing. Needless to say, we didn't work out.

Everyone’s dancing their troubles away

... come join our party, see how we play!

Hrm, worst/best date.

Worst date was when I was 14. I went out with a boy that a girl friend set me up with. We went ice skating. He was terrible, and looked so awkward. Plus, he was really annoying and had a terrible sense of humor. Note: ice skating is not a good first date.

Best date... a girl and I decided to try things out, it was a beautiful spring day so we went to Pepsico park and had a picnic by the lake. Spent the time chatting and getting to know each other, then wandering the trails in the afternoon. Was fantastic.

btw, I really love 80's music. =)

Happy FFAF! I'm currently making my rounds. I'm kinda bored and should be packing because I'm going to see Josh Groban in Connecticut tomorrow.... but oh well. I'll get it done after I'm done randomly posting on strangers blogs. Have a good one!

An awkward first date
Avatar for {name}
On our first Movie Date, I took my girlfriend to see Nine 1/2 Weeks. I honestly did not know what this movie was about, just that it had Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke in it, which sounded good, and none of the other movies playing at the theater that day sounded very interesting. For those who haven't seen it, the movie is about a very strange relationship and features scene after scene of kinky sex. It is a somewhat awkward movie to see on a first date. I guess the contemporary equivalent would be seeing something like Secretary on a first date.

Best or Worse - I’m Not Sure…
Avatar for {name}
I'm not really sure if this is a best or a worst date experience:
In my first year of University, my room mate set me up to go on a date with a guy who played Rugby with her boyfriend. The guy called me and he asked me where I wanted to go for dinner. I replied Arby's, afterall they had their Beef'n Cheddar with curly fries deal on for $2.99! He paused for a second (to see if I was joking) but I was dead serious, and then said, "How about we go to a place where there's utensils". This really threw me for a loop - at 19 no one I had ever dated had brought me to an actual restaurant, nor had anyone I ever dated had a car, I was quite comfortable riding our bikes there... I thought about it for a few minutes and excitedly piped up "Swiss Chalet!!".

So to Swiss Chalet we went (better known around here as Swiss Pigeon, as it's about the same level as Pizza Nova, or Pizza Hut). I ate a Chalet Salad, Full Rack of Ribs with French Fries and a Bun, washed it down with 2 ice teas, then I finished it all off with a Super Sundae - I ate all this so I wouldn't have to talk! I was so nervous 'cause I liked this guy who had taken me out for a REAL dinner so very, very much! My friends in residence thought I must have been a really horrible date, as I was back to my dorm by 9:00 PM, in time to see Melrose Place!

So why am I not sure whether this was the worst date or the best? Well that guy took it on as a personal challenge to get me to talk - so he asked me out on more dates. One date led to another and here it is 10 years later and he's now my husband!

dark side of the moon
I am going to take a self imposed break from blogging. It shouldn't be too long, a couple of days - a week tops. I just feel like I've nothing really good to say lately and I need to take a small creative break. My goals are to get some things done around the house and come up with some better post ideas. I will most likely still read blogs and comment, but I can't be sure that I will even do that. The Mr. Q™ has a metric ton of course work to finish up this week too - so the timing is perfect. see you on the flip side.

bright side
im trying to work myself into feeling like i want to go to work today. ive got a wee bit of a upset tummy and my mental state isn't all that good. i just don't have much patience for anything. agh. i need a mental health day. but i can't take one. my guys need me. the bright side - oh i found it - someone does need me

I use Mozilla now for my primary browser. It makes me happy. I loved the tabbed browsing. The only issue - I don't have IE spell anymore - so I have to open up a blank email to spell check my entries. anyone know of a spell checker for mozilla?

i have a visitor coming in two weeks. and then two days after the visitor leaves i become a visitor. i am so excited! It's only 24 days until my birthday!
