Oh Oh Oh!
My blog is a clue in a scavenger hunt. Or, my blog is the answer to a clue in a scavenger hunt. You know what I mean right, internets?
The best/worst/funniest/scariest thing about this? I don’t know WHICH clue leads to my blog.
I *think* it’s # 12. What do you think?
Update. 11:23pm 1/31/05. I STILL don’t know which one is mine. I’ve guessed 4 so far though. How dumb am I?
Update. 11:35pm 1/31/05. Michele came and gave me a clue. I know which one is mine now.
I’ve finally closed the FFAF. It was up 48 hours.
Went to a meeting at 4 yesterday. Meeting over at 8pm. Went to Girls Night at Gypsy Girl’s house. Stayed up till 4am watching DeLovely* and Garden State*. Also a lot of talking , s’more making, and a little smoking. Slept on a a child’s bottom bunk. It was pretty cool though - I was sleeping in a little cubby hole thing. Woke up around 11, after 90 minutes of “just more snooze hit.” Then I slept late, ate pizza, went to a party, came home, rug doctored the carpet, rearranged the living room, and then smoked a nice spliff.
oh god.
I’m tired
*Movie Reviews Forthcoming.
Hello! I usually forget to participate because I’m a complete flake that rarely knows what day it is but today I actually noticed it was friday! Go me!
Now whom would I invite to that dinner party. Lesee. Certainly not Judy Chicago, the artist that created The Dinner Party installation. I’ve met her and she’s not a very nice person. At all.
Hmm. Wel,l I watched Holiday last night and I’ve been in a movie mood lately so I think I’d go with a film theme. Ok. Well I’d have to invite Cary Grant. Because, like, he’s the man. And my favorite movies with him usually have Katherine Hepburn so I’d want to invite her too. I suppose that means I’d have to invite Spence as well because I’m betting that now they’ve been reunited she won’t go anywhere without him.
Now, I want to shake things up a bit and invite someone modern. Hmm I’m kind of torn between Christopher Guest and Tim Robbins. I think either of them would certainly be charming enough so as not to scare the others but still discuss things that would interest them. Tough call. I’m afraid it would have to be a tossup between the two depending of which one had the gap in their schedule :)
Oh that was fun! Thanks Luk! I wasn’t sure what I was going to write but having a conversation starter really helped. Just in case I’d brought along a cute drawing of a hedgehog I ran across today.
And I wanted to invite everyone over to my other site The Egeltje Group! I’ve set it up separately from my regular site so it’s open to guest posters 24/7!
PS in case you were wondering Egeltje means “little hedgehog” in Dutch :)
Bye!
in new orleans, la the mardi gras season has already started and as it goes on the parades get more and more extravigant. this also contributes to major headaches for locals, such as myself. i work for a national company that doesn’t give paid holidays for the days everyone here has to take off when the city shuts down. at the same time i can’t drive home from work late because the streets near my house will be to crowded to move in. this may seem horrible, but at the same time this is an annual city wide party that lasts from january 6th to the tuesday six weeks before easter or febuary 8th this year. plus going to a parade gets you more free stuff that you can think of because parades here throw stuff at the crowd, like beads, cups, candy and other stuff. if this isn’t a good enough reason to enjoy the holiday just check out your fellow participants who are in various stages of undress and intoxication as well as having quite possibly the best time of their lives.
what’s the mystery, you ask? how can all the fun mixed with all the hassles not force the residents of my fair city to leave?
thanks for the free for all;

Okay, hmm, so, I’ve got four people to invite to a dinner party. Who would I invite…
Well, that’s an odd set of people, I dread to imagine a menu. I can never come up with any starter ideas other than Prawn Cocktail (how 1970’s)
Phill from black-heart.co.uk
The ultimate dinner party for me would be Walt Whitman(for the poetry), Mozart(for music and eccentrics), Einstein(for sciences), and finally Robin Williams to make jokes about how ironic the situation truly is.
I hear the jokes now. “Mozart,Whitman, and Einstein were at the dinner table.....”
Have a great weekend all
Hmm ... never really though of this.
For a laugh, I’m probably get Linus Torvalds first. As the (correct me if I’m wrong) father of Linux I’m sure he’ll be a blast to chat about all things technical. Only problem, I’m still having problems getting my distro of linux working as well as I would like to, so maybe he’ll be bale to give some pointers.
Next off, Bill Gates, for having single-handedly dumped Windows into a majority of the PCs out there, and for forcing people to use IE. I don’t, though. Love live FireFox.
I think Steve Jobs would be an interesting addition. I really like the iPod, although my Sony Ericsson P800 is serving me rather fine, allowing me to listen to a few songs without having to carry too many gadgets about. Pity about the 128MB MS Duo.
Finally, I’ll probably invite myself AND enjoy the show as the three of them start chattering about Linux, Windows and Mac. Maybe they’ll start blasting the flaws of the other OS too.
Ooh, I can be so mean at times. :cheese:
Hello everybody! I’m Phoenix and I have a little message to tell you… I’m SICK! :( Not to worry, I’m getting better everyday. So just… pray for me, please? It’ just the flu, but I want to go out today, it’s friday, time to partay! Anyways… hope you have a good first FFAF of the year! I’m gone now.
This is exactly the question I had for one of my essays for college entrance, except I had to pick one.
I think I ended up picking Alan Turing. He’s the guy who people claim is the father of modern computer science. I was on a Turing kick back in high school.
If I had to add three more, I would add author Neal Stephenson, who coincidentally wrote about Alan Turing in one of his books. Also I’m a big fan of Neil Gaiman, who authors comic books as well as a bunch of other things you’re probably familiar with if you’ve even heard of The Sandman.
The fourth is tough, because I really don’t know who I’d like to have dinner with. I guess the obvious choice is my grandfather, who passed away when I was 10. I remember that he was always very wise, like a grandfather should be, and I would like to talk to him about the person I’ve become and the person he was.
