Moblog Entry

I just tried to call home. It went to my mobile voice mail. Maybe it means Vonage has switched on. It did inspire a switch in that recording. Now i think its too sugary. Lol

Updated : Yupp! After 2 months Vonage is now our phone carrier. Sweet! that only took 2 months.

i wish they’d do that yard work another time

So I was thinking about this today.  I re read an old post, one that was written a year ago today, and ::miss m:: mentioned that I never show up as updated.  I wondered if that still happened.  I ping, but since I don’t use a blogroll anymore, or at least I don’t have myself on one anymore, I don’t know if I am updated.  I do have my site on my bloglines list, so I know that my feeds work ok. I was thinking - I’m not sure how people read this site anymore.  I know I get readers, visitors, commenters, but I am not sure how they got here.  So that’s my poll. How do you read this site?  I’ve even got an option if you are just BLEX’ing through. :) Have at it folks.

it’s crap

lol. I got this in an email today. I thought it was a nice quote! :)

Just remember, its slander when you say it. It’s libel when you put it in print. When it comes out of a politician’s mouth it’s called rhetoric. If a politician or related PAC prints it, it’s called propaganda. If it comes from a democrat, it’s called treason. If it comes from a Republican, its called policy, then democrats are accused of “obstructionism” for repudiating it. If it comes from the Green party it’s called paranoia. If it comes from the Libertarians it’s called “reactionary”.

Most importantly remember this good rule of thumb, if you saw it on TV, it can most likely be labeled simply “Bullshit”, and if it comes from Fox News, it’s most definitely “Absolute Crap”.

he used to be so cute

It’s a shame that Tom Cruise is such as ass. I sort of wanted to see War of the Worlds.  But after his comment about psychiatry being a “pseudo science” and his statement that “There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance” I think that I won’t.  I think that I am going to boycott all thing Tom, and/or all things TomKat. Even the American Psychiatric Association is speaking out against Tom’s comments, as well they should.  He’s an asshat. Scientology is a “religion” founded by a freaking scientist, on a bet folks.  It’s asinine. And so is he.  So I won’t be shelling out 8 bucks to see that stupid movie of his, even if it DOES have Dakota Fanning it in.  Now, HER I like! :)

wet donglerazzle

As many of you know two weeks ago today my husband was involved in an accident. The back end of my car is all crunched.  I live in Florida, where it’s been pretty much like a rain forest the last couple of days.  Rain has been leaking into the trunk.  I cleaned it out today; the mold smell was making me ill. I threw out everything that wasn’t ruined/something I needed. The car smells much better now.  (I also got a bottle of fabreeze air for the car - so I’m never without something to make it smell better.) There’s nothing in the back now to get all modly cept the lining.  Course the fact that the front floors are sort of wet (I dunno) and starting to smell too, doesn’t help much. They were drying out until It rained again tonight. I think they me leaking from underneath. I dunno. I had the windows open today to help dry it out a bit. I should have known better. When I left the windows open it was bright, sunny and nearly cloudless in all the sky I could see. About 45 min after I came insdie, hubby remarked that it was raining. Damn.  I ran out and rolled em up and hubby ran out to re-lock down the trunk. He got soaked. The inside of the trunk did too. But at least the inside of the rest of the car is ok.  Stupid rain. Stupid car! Stupid asshole SUV driver!  grr.  Donglerazzle!!! Donglerazzle!!!

Donglerazzle was the word of the day today, as prescribed by OHB in the BLEX SB. FYI.

imc joke

A professor was giving a lecture on “Involuntary Muscular Contractions” to first year medical students.  Realizing that this was not the most riveting subject the professor decided to lighten the mood slightly. He pointed to a young woman in the front row and said “Mary, do you know what your asshole is doing while you’re having an orgasm?”

She replied, “He’s probably down at the biker bar with his friends.”

and baby makes five

Yeah, so, my Mom offered to pay for me to go to Weight Watchers this summer if I wanted to go. At first I was gonna say no, cause I felt like that was a silly thing for her to spend her money on. Then I thought about. I figure - I need something to kick my fat ass into shape - and maybe Weight Watchers will be that something. It can’t hurt to try.  I guess I just need to figure out whether I want to do the online WW or the in person meetings WW.  There are positives and negatives to both options, and I can’t decide. Maybe I will go to a meeting and see what they’re like - sort of test the waters a bit.  (All of a sudden I wish I had someone to go with me...) I don’t mind what I look like, most days. But I do really mind all the health issues that are threatening. I’ve struggled with this in the past, and most like this won’t be the end of this struggle. It all boils down to me not wanting to give in to the societal pressure that only thin women are beautiful.  I just need to focus on what I goal is in the end.  It’s more important than looking good, it’s more important than being healthy. It’s having a healthy child. I’m not pregnant now, but I hope to be in about a year, or so, and I can’t do that with this body.  So I am going to take my mother up on her offer to pay for WW this summer, and I’m going to get started getting ready for baby.

contrast

I put a new skin tonight. It’s called “Stolen Pictures.” What I did was use this site called ”Spell with Flickr” that pulls images from Flickr pictures and spells out words. It’s pretty nifty. It took a couple of tires to get the color combos right, but in the end I think it turned out snazzy. The colors are quite dark, so let me know if they are TOO dark for you. Also - I’m not sure I mentioned it, but I added another new skin the other day. That one’s called “Colorful Flowers.” I got the image on that one from IStock and OHB helped me edit is so that one of the flowers is orange. It’s a nice bright skin that one is. White backgrounds, bright accent colors.  Hope you like these new skin additions.

gastronomial delights

The last couple of days have been very good gastronimically.  Hell. I even had a friend compliment me on my recent weigth loss (although I think it was a trick of the light.) Over the last couple of days I’ve had some yummy food treats.

Friday : We had a spread of treats.  Cold Shrimp, watermelon, pineapple, honeydo melon, vine ripe ‘maters, bread, hummus, goat cheese, goat cheee gouda, port salut, pistachios, cherries, pears, sangria, imported beer, vegigie sushi, and coffee.

Saturday : Hubby made steak, mashed ‘taters and gravy for dinner. He also made crescent rolls that while not exactly like cresent rolls are supposed to taste like - very yummy. Hubbby had his first taste of tiramisu, we both loved it. Even though I felt like i was gonna die when some marsala wine soaked bits of cake got stuck in my throat.  I also had fresh strawberries and powdered sugar for a midnight snack.

Tonight for dinner we’re having enchiladas.  One batch is black beans and boca meat. The other patch, sweet onions, garlic, green peppers and brown rice.  Weve also got fresh ‘maters avacados, and a batch of guacmole.  mmmm
