let’s get outta here

That was a bust.  When I went the pet store the other day to get wet food for the kitties I picked up a leash. I thought maybe one of them would like to take a walk with me.  Kayce ran out the door a min ago so I put the leash on her, but she was totally uninterested in walking then. When I tried it on Kaos he flipped out and did the whole kitty death roll to get off the leash.  Guess my little indoor babies only like to pretend to be adventurous! :)

its the little things

My driver side window is off its tracks.  I can’t roll it down.

Today at Satan’s 5 and Dime some kids asked me what my black bracelet says. Seems they collect them.  When I told them it says “I Did Not Vote for Bush” the adult with them, and the cashier both make little disapproving nosies. Fuckers. Like I care about the two of them. I was interested in seeing how the kids reacted. They both asked if it was true. And I said that it was. (I’ve never voted for Bush.  Sr, Jr or Jeb.) The didn’t really react. They sort of looked at the man who was with them, I don’t assume it was their dad. One of the kids called him by name.  The kids told me the best bracelet was the one that said “No Pain No Gain.”

I went the the hardware store today. I purchased something I will absolutely not use for it for the purpose that it was orginally intended for. I don’t even know what the fuck it’s actually supposed to do. I know what it’s gonna do for me though.

I really want a “Bush Fucking Sucks” type bumper sticker for my car.  I don’t have one though because I live in Florida, and people are fucking nutters here. I don’t want some redneck freak in a truck with balls to try and run my ass off the road. That wouldn’t be cool. Wouldn’t be cool at all.

Also while at Satan’s 5 and Dime I purchased some shorts. This is significant. I have not purchase a pair of shorts, or even so much as a pair of carpris, in well over 4 years.  I got a cute pair of sort of soccer-ish black with white stripes one; and a plain light grey color with some red, white and blue flowers on the front. (Normally I have an aversion to that combo - but they didn’t have plain.) There are some beach/camping like trips planned in the near future, and I figured I needed some. They were clearance too. I got both for 12 bucks. Satan’s 5 and Dime is good for the cheap, no?

The best part about my car window being broken - I cant stop at fast food places. I’ve eaten subway twice sine it broke.  I’m loving their new hot subs. Sweet!

image Have I mentioned have totally freaking awesome this free jewelry site is?! I’m wearing two pieces now, and just bought a third. (pictured to your left.) I am keeping a look-out for a third one in the hearts - one in all London Blue Topaz. Right now I think of my two as “dad, brother, brother, and mom.” Which is sort of silly, but I actually love it. So I may not try so hard to find the third.

candied names

image I love candy.  And even though I can’t/don’t/won’t eat as much of it as I used to/could/might, it’s still a semi-obsession.  I have to admit - I’ve never understood the different between the Skor bar, and the Heath bar.  (Normally I’d make some crack about dating a guy named Heath here, but since only a tiny fraction of you know why that’s funny, I won’t.) If you are familiar, the Skor bar and the Heath bar are both toffee covered chocolate bars made by Hershey’s. Let’s break is down, shall we.

Size, Shape and General appearance (comparatively speaking)
The Skor bar is a little wider than the Heath bar. The Heath bar is a little thicker than the Skor Bar. The color of the chocolate is the same shade.  The toffee on the Skor bar is of a darker color, but the ratio of chocolate to toffee is the same for both bars. I didn’t notice a difference in the “snap factor.” I ate a piece of the Heath bar first. Oh it’s so yummy. The toffee broke hear, but ti totally just melted in my mouth. Next - a bit of the Skor Bar. The toffee here is much chunkier in the mouth, and it doesn’t melt as fast. It gets slightly stuck in the teeth, but in a good way.  In the mouth the chocolate and the toffee in the skor bar don’t mix together as much as in the Heath bar - it’s like the chocolate is a little softer in the Heath bar.  That’s it. The Heath Bar is a softer than the Skor bar (and yes - these bars were both the same temp when I started eating them, they came from the same bag,) A serious subtle-ness in the difference between the two bars though. Crazy that Hershey’s feels the need to have them both.  Is there really such a demanding market that we have TWO different toffee covered chocolate bars. Bars that I prolly couldn’t tell apart in a blind taste test.  They sure are yummy though.

if you hang up now you will lose your place in the queue

You gotta love the govt of Florida.  They send a letter out saying that your case has been denied, and saying you need to call by a specific date to contest this decision and then put a phone number on it that doesn’t work.  And there’s NO other contact information on the letter at all. This letter was dated 5.24.05 and the phone number is already inoperable. Wow. Change is fast in govt now. I’m lucky I’ve got the internets, and I sort of know how to make em do what I want. Otherwise I’d never had found this number so fast.  :)

there’s no rule 11

I went to see The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants yesterday. We loves it! :) It’s totally a girl flick - one guy , a dad, in the wole theater. Cried, course the previews made me cry too, so it wasn’t surprising.  But, seriously, it was a really good flick. I’m no reviewer - I’m not very objective er whatever. I just really enjoyed the movie.  It’s really sweet. :)

Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel, Blake Lively and America Ferrera shine in this film version of Ann Brashares’ chick-lit best seller. Working from a deft script by Delia Ephron, director Ken Kwapis labors hard so that guys won’t cringe (too much) as four teen girls, of different body types, pass along the same pair of lucky jeans during a summer of love and loss.

projected obsessions

Another project.  This time it’s adding albums to my iPod.  At this start of this little projectI had 500 songs on my iPod. (It can hold 1,000 - I’ve got a mini.) Tonight I picked out 10 cd’s from my collection to add. I’ve already added the first two Franz Ferdinand (alternataive), and Melisa Aud der Maur’s Auf der Maur (rock).  The other 8 cd’s go something like this.

The Beatles - Sgt Pepper’s Lonley Hearts Club Band (rock)*
L.P. - Suburban Sprawl & Alcohol (rock - girl)
Hole - Celebrity Skin (rock)
Metallica - the black album (metal)
Billboard #1s :The ‘80s (rock)
Shania Twain p (Up) red - the rock mix*
Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show - Greatest Hits (And More)
Ani DiFranco - Imprefectly

First * - I am just finished up a book called ”Magical Mystery Tours : My Life with the Beatles” by Tony Bramwell. It’s a very good book, and I learned a lot about the Beatles that I didn’t know before. If you are a fan, you should check this book out.  It’s a really easy read too. :) This is one of two Beatles records I plan to add. The second being portions of disk 1 & 2 of thier third anthology.  Little stories in the books abuot how the snogs came to be, is insanely fascinating to me. And now that I’ve read them I want to list to the songs over and over again. It;s like heardnig them all over again for the first time. Or something. :)

Second * This record came with two cd’s.  The red disk is “an electic, rockier-edged sound” and the green disk is a “more acoustic, down-home feel” to the same 19 songs. I prefer the red disk. But the green disk isn’t too bad. (There are even blue tracks - “more rythmic with an Eastern influckence. Way fun!” versions on her website you can download.)

Based on these 10, along with the other records I’ve added recently** - I would have to say that I am musically prepared for nearly any situation.  image At the very least I’ll like never run out of stuff to listen to now.  Like, ever! image

**Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill (rock)
Green Day - American Idiot (alt & punk)
Ashlee Simpson - Autobiography (pop)
Blondie - Best Of (rock)
Jet - Get Born (rock)
Liz Phair - Liz Phair (alt rock)
Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who like bad News (rock)
Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes (alt & punk)
Tracy Bonham - The Burdens Of Being Upright (rock)
Tripping Daisy - I Am An Elastic Firecracker (rock)

lol

How do I just run up and smack somebody across the face, and run away - but on a blog? Cause that’s skill I really want right now. :)
