I put little hearts next to 11 of the songs. This is where I elaborate.
1. Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix), Los Del Rio
Every single party I went to in the summer of 1996 until the Spring of 1997 had that song played at LEAST once. The best times were with Bill. Dancing with him was the best.
3. Because You Loved Me, Celine Dion
This was the first song my husband and I ever danced to. Back in the spring of 1997 at a RHA spring formal. The first time we ever danced together - we’d been dating about 2 and 1/2 months.
8. I Love You Always Forever, Donna Lewis
When my best friend turned 21 I put together a Mix tape for her. (including a lyrics booklet) This wasn’t in 96, it was in 2000.
16. Sittin’ Up In My Room, Brandy
Brady made an appearance at my HS. I think it was my sophomore year. It would have been 94 - maybe?! I wasn’t too impressed and I sat in the back and snuck out early.
33. Gangsta’s Paradise, Coolio
This song just epitomizes my senior year. IT was ALL over the radio and every kid could identify with it. AT least in my school anyway.
53. Mouth, Merril Bainbridge
I didn’t know about this song back then. I first hear it a couple of times. I’ve song this at Karaoke a dozen or so times. I didn’t realize it was this old until I read this list.
56. Wonderwall, Oasis
I have this memory of sitting on the front of my car listening to this song and singing along in the middle of the night. It must have been the Spring or the Summer. But I can’t remember the specifics.
67. Closer To Free, Bodeans
I SWEAR this is a theme song to some 90’s tv show. I’m thinkin it was Party of Five. I could be wrong though. Surely someone on the internets can tell me.
72. Pony, Ginuwine
I f’ing hate this song. Hated hearing it at parties. Hated hearing it at FRAT parties the most. I can’t tell you exactly why, but I think I actually would LEAVE the parties when this song came on!
79. I Want To Come Over, Melissa Etheridge
I’ve always loved this song. It’s just something I can identify with. And it’s powerful.
92. Until It Sleeps, Metallica
I don’t remember this tune. And I couldn’t find it on iTunes.
Know where the title of this post comes from? I’ve been watching two episodes of this show while alternating between snoozing and hitting the loo. Good times. Bad times. The episode this quote from came from one called “Him.” Know what show it is?
I HAD to steal this from Diner Bitch. I graduated in 1996 too, and I wanted to see if out musical tastes will coincide. Somehow, I think they will. Not to mention it’ll be fun to show yall how electric (i think) my music tastes are.
It’s a good thing I had iTunes. Let me just say that iTunes rocks! I’m bad with song titles, especially with one from 9 years ago. So I went on iTunes and listened to little clips of each one of these songs. (Some of the songs - even when I listened to them - I didn’t recogzine. Weird.) Let’s just say the memories came a floodin’ back! Song marked with a ♥ will be further commented upon in follow-up entry. How can I not, ya know?
I have a confession to make. Sometimes I check out the Battles over at BLEX and just vote FOR the people I like and AGAINST the people I don’t like. And then just skip the rest of the battles. I’m bad like that.
Man. Yeah. So those were TOO obscure. Lesson learned. I don’t know how people felt about the audio though. I had on person complain they couldn’t get it to work, and another say I was too soft on the audio. what do you think?

The other day I mentioned that I needed a new makeup organizer. Tonight, while perusing (lusting and coveting) over at Sephora I found one. It’s called ”Essential Train Case.” This train case is perfect for travel or home use. Clear case with four organizing shelves for easy access and the ultimate in organization. Black velvet lining adds luxury to your loot! It’s Original Price was $65 but , including shipping, I got it for 27. Plus three samples. I am getting Dessert Beauty Deliciously Kissable Fragrance in Juicy , Paris Hilton Perfume and Escada Eau de Parfum. (I had 12 choices.) I hope it gets here before I leave next Thursday for KC! I’d love to have wicked new scents to wear on vacation!

Dear doG, it’s me Luka.
Do you think you could see fit to send a new(er) car my way? I guess actually I need to speak to Mother Nature. Can you pass this one to her, please and thank you! Maybe you could make it not so hot outside? See. I’m melting. If you could see fit to just make it like 79°F it would be perfect. Then I wouldn’t melt in my car and neither would my clients. My poor developmentaly disabled clients; riding around in my hot as hades car. It’s just not fair to them, ya know. Of course, it’s really all about me. I’m beggin here. Could it really be that hard? You’ve made it hotter, can’t you just...make it cooler. I’d really appreciate it. Heck - I might even start belicing in you if you could do that for me. Other wise - Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo You!
I’m just kidding, you know. But brining the temp down would really help everybody, not just me. It’s not selfish to ask this. Ok OK, so asking for a new car is. I *could* use one though.
It’s getting hot in here. And my brain’s breaking. Take off all your clothes.
(Blopblang is the BFF word for the day, and it’s brought to you by orange haired boy.
At the pool. Doing laundry. Was swimin. Trying to get some color on my pale legs. Met a boy. James. I think all the boys out here are gay. I need a gay boyfriend. I miss Danny. :(
