Welcoming of Summer
Avatar for {name}

I would like to welcome you all to summer time.  There is nothing better than summer time.  Brake out them slip-n-slides and have a blast.  OK make sure there are a few totties in there before you start and hey remember that hose.  The summer here in New England has pretty much sucked big time.  We have had rain for 2 months straight.  I keep wondering to myself when we moved to the amazon?  I still sit on my back deck waiting for a bug the size of my head to fly by.  But no such luck.  I am still in NE and with weather not normal for this time of year.  I remember a few weeks ago in the beginning of June that we had already had 15 inches of rain in the past 60 days or something like that.  That is absolutely crazy!  I don’t even want to know what the total is now.  WOW Its mind boggling really.  But one thing is for sure.  I am really really really glad this isn’t snow.  We would be toast!
Well back to my beer and relaxing on the back deck with the puter in my lap and the sun in my eyes.  hehe
Thank you Luka for the lovely invite once again. Its always a pleasure to be there on FFAF.

Movies Are Fun!
Avatar for {name}

It’s summertime. Sun, sand, fun, and movies abound - woohoo!

Summer movies : which one are you looking forward to, which ones do you think are gonna blow?

From the above quote, you’ll see that I’ve chosen to answer one of Luka’s excellent suggestions for a topic…

Since I honestly have no idea what’s due to be out, besides Monster House, which I’m anxious to see, I can’t really give you an in depth post on which ones will most likely blow. Hold on, lemme hop over to Moviefone and formulate some opinions.

Okay, back. After browsing through the Summer Movies listing, so far, The Devil Wears Prada is looking pretty hot, but I must read the book first. Though I love Sandra Bullock, and Keanu Reeves has eye candy status, I’m still out to lunch on The Lake House. It may blow, but I can’t be certain. FAtF: Tokyo Drift is on my to-see list, not because I expect it to be any good, but only because I love fast cars.

Other movies on my list of movies to see this summer include:

And if I had to pick a single movie I know would blow this summer? If it’s anything like what happened with the Village, then it would be Lady In The Water. Oh yes, and Garfield. I couldn’t even make it through the first one. Loved the cartoon series and comic strip though.

In case you’re not psychic and are wondering who wrote this post, it’s me, Teli...you know...from Mild Insanity (which, by the way, is also hosting Free For All Friday. Feel free to stop by and post).

P.S. You’ll probably notice I didn’t mention anything about Superman. Every time I think about Superman, I think about Christopher Reeves and it makes me sad. I may still see it though.

Well, I’ve already seen Cars, X-Men 3, The Lake House, DaVinci Code.  Now the biggest that I had wanted to see this summer was X-Men and DaVinci COde which I thought were excellent.  Superman looks to be interesting but I’m waiting for this winter with the next installment of Harry Potter.  I’ll most likely go see the Devil Wears Prada this weekend too.  I’m looking forward to watching Pirates of the Carribean II.  I will be working this July 4th as I do on most holidays because I hate them.

FFAF - June 30th 3006

Today is Friday the 30th of June.  It’s the last Friday of the month.  It’s Free for All Friday too.  So, basically, I open my blog up to all the Internets and anyone who wants to can log in and post something.  It’s pretty easy; and usually it’s pretty fun.  Or, at least, I think it is.

Helpful Starters :

OR
If there’s a movie about your life, who would you want cast as you?! (a idea that totally came from Daria.) Also - who else would be in your movie and who would they play?

the moral of this story

I totally benefited from the schmoozing of a drug company last night.  I was invited to a seminar by this dr who’s name I can’t remember. I never even saw the name written down, so what can I say. Anyway. It was a 30 minute presentation about how Abilify can help medically manage BiPolar disorder and Schizophrenia.  Most of the presentation went over my head but it seems like the drug will help ya if you need it and the side effects aren’t too bad. :-) What can I say? The important bit of this recollection is how I rewarded for REALLY just being there. ;-) My boss told me about this dinner thing and I wasn’t really that excited. In fact, knowing that I have to drive CLEAR across town (as far east as I go in any given work day, and FURTHER west than I drive EVER) during fucking rush hour I was even MORE not excited. Then I looked up the restaurant and I figured dinner at this place would be SO worth it. I got the most fabulous food. Bruchetta with tomatoes and freshly shaved Parmesan cheese, stuffed mushrooms, Cesare salad, fettuccine Alfredo, angel hair with red sauce, stuffed chicken breast, eggplant Parmesan, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, a death my chocolate cake who’s real name i can’t remember and cheesecake with strawberries. All this food was served family style and all the left overs were boxed up. My boss and I took the lions share of the stuff home with our other lady taking the last bit. No one else took any food home. There were three tables with double the food for the amount of people at the table. At our table there were 4 women. We ate about 1/2 of what was out on the table and ALL of those left overs were boxed up.  I didn’t really see what happened at the other two tables, but I DO know I brought home a LOT of food.  My entire freezer is filled with little aluminium and cardboard topped boxes.  All with directions on how to reheat. Whoo Hoo.  30 minutes and Ive got yummy leftovers for like 3 days. Including some of that AMAZING Chocolate Zuccotto Cake.  ( I looked it up.) Husband and I polished that off last night. We only had three bits and we didn’t expect such a rush!  Like my boss said, you get invited to a drug rep seminar, You go. Even if you gotta spend am hour in heavy traffic to get there.! :-) (menu in the extended entry)

and oh, and not only did I get the food, I got it all for free, AND a free pen. Can you believe it? A Free PEN! ;-)

summertime pinup
image
I made a new skin tonight.  And it’s the new default as well, so you may already be looking at it. It’s called Summertime Pinup.  The pinup is by Andrew Bawidamann.  This skin is a little different that my last ones. It’s still 3 columns, but the blog content/entries are in the middle rather than on the left or right side.  As always, I’d love feedback about the skin.  Oh, and I even made a new little “signature” graphic. Like on this entry. I’m using a new little version of me. Too cute; I think.  I even went back to non rounded edges for this skin. First one in, what, 4 skins?  Yeah. So, there ya go. :-)

a query redux

Say you found out that your best friend, by some amazing set of coincidences, was your sibling.  What would your reaction be?
