Tuesday Trivia : Halloween

image

Happy Halloween!  I hope you and yours and enjoying copious amounts of candy and good times! I hope you’re wearing a fun costume and enjoying the festivities of the day! I have an appointment with a Vampire this afternoon, then I’m sure to visit the Sushi place for dinner between clients! Maybe I’ll get their Halloween Roll again!  I’ve got candy to give out tonight, but I don’t think I’ll have ANY kids stop by. If I can get the hubby to agree, I wanna try and watch some campy Halloween type shows.  Movies or whatever.  If you’re gonna be in tonight, you might as well listen to The Halloween Version of The Saturday Morning Show that I recorded Sunday! It’s 2 hours plus of Halloween Music, with a special Co Host.  My friend Jeff, my old radio show partner, and my husbands best friend since 1st grade, was up to visit for the weekend - and after the total Frak up of the Saturday version, it’s was like a cosmic event putting us back on air together after like 8 years!* I changed the order of the playlist a bit, but didn’t take out any songs.  Only 2 people even heard that broadcast.  My Dad, and Diz of My So Called Radio Show We had a freaking blast - so hopefully you’ll enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed putting it on!  Since it’s Halloween i picked appropriate trivia. And a lot of it cause It’s like the best holiday of the year as far as I am concerned!

help me make a choice
Pick The Next Skin
Total Votes: 9
The one I call "Muted Fall"
 44% (4)

The one I call "Sexy Bright Fall"
 56% (5)

Here’s the deal. I can’t decide which of these two images to use for my next skin.  I found both of these on Istock, and liked em both right away. When I asked hubby which one I should use - he said that he liked em both, and that I should just DO both.  Turns out that’s too expensive, so now I’ve gotta make a choice. But I can’t. I can’t decide and don’t know which one to use. Which one do you think I should use?  Tell me in the comments if you wanna, but at least vote, K! ;-) Thanks

This image I call Muted Fall. This was the second that I found. I like the rounded images, albeit the colors are a bit muted.  I would use rounded sidebars to match the rounded edited of the images.

image This image I called Sexy Bright Fall. I found this one first, and liked the bright bold colors. I would likely but a border around the image, and then match that border on the side bars.

Avatar for {name}

unfortunately my computer crashed in the middle of my show, so i lost the first half. and then toward the end of the show my connection dropped.  i guess it was just meant to be that i would have to ReBroadcast and ReRecord the show. I’m gonna go on tomorrow - RIGHT after My Show Called Radio show, that’s usually about 11 am EST. You should go ahead and get up for HER 9am show, and then just stay until mine. She’s got a whole show of Halloween stuff, ALL different from mine too! No* Repeats! ;-)

Be there or Be a Rectangle!

*ok, there may be ONE repeat. a possibly asecond. but it’s only a bed that repeats. so it’s still the truth :-)

Camping

Alternate Title: Reason #276 Katie is Going to Hell

So last year, I went camping with my friend. It was a church sponsored event type thing. Well, we go, and I make friends with the marine dude and his buddies, and instead of sitting in devotionals, we sneaked out, went to 7-11 and bought beer (haha, beer is so gross) and sat around in the tent playing poker and listening to totally inappropriate comedy.

Some of us need more salvation than others and if it doesn’t come in the form of extra large pieces of communion bread, then I guess Katie, Nick and Crew are kind of screwed.

Good morning world! I’m Katie from Kat Scratch Fever and KSF To-Go. FFAF is open at my blog, please stop by and make a post!

This entry brought to you by me, a blue tipped baby spoon, the letter M, and Luka.

I thought I’d share the music -I- have been listening to this Halloween season!  (X-Entertainment puts up a playlist of songs)Also, as a treat, let’s share a Halloween Recipe!

Cherry Mash Candy

2 Cups Sugar
3/4 Cup Evaporated Milk
12 Large Marshmallows
1/2 Cup Butter
1 Large Bag Cherry Chips
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
12 Oz Chocolate Chips
1/2 Cup Smooth Peanut Butter

Over medium heat, bring the sugar, evaporated milk, marshmallows, and butter to a rolling boil for 5 minutes.

Remove from heat, and add the cherry chips and vanilla, stirring until melted smooth.

Spread the mix into a well-greased 9 X 13 pan and chill until hard.

Next, heat the chocolate chips and peanut butter ober low heat in a double boiler until smooth.

Spread the peanuty chocolate over the chilled cherry mixture, and then toss back into the fridge to set.

Pull out, cut into squares, and enjoy!

Happy Halloween!

the very first theme thursday
IF you’ve looked at a calendar lately you know that next Tuesday is Halloween! So this Saturday (on the Saturday Morning Show) I’m going to do a whole show of Halloween music.  Halloween is by far, and away, my favorite holiday. It’s not just the candy either.  There’s just something about this time of year.  I love the spookyness of it, the sillyness of it.  I love the specials on the TV, i love the commercials that start, oh, sometime in August. :-) I love how religious folk get all bent outta shape cause it’s “the devils holiday.” Just the other day I had a woman tell me that she doesn’t celebrate Halloween cause It’s the Devils Holiday and that she doesn’t believe in that. I told her that I didn’t believe in the Devil either and that’s why I celebrate it. She totally didn’t appreciate that! ;-) This song that I’ve posted and shared with you today is one from a CD that I got the other day for the show.  I’ve decided not to use the song in the show - but there are loads like it in the show! It’s Mannheim Steamroller doing Superstition by Stevie Wonder.  I love Mannheim Steamroller, ive been listening to them since I was a kid.  And you know how much I love covers so this is just a perfect combo, ya know.  I hope that you like this song, and maybe it will intice you to tune in on Saturday.  I’ve tired to find music that maybe not everyone will have on their shows at this time, but you can’t have a Halloween playlist without Thriller, Monster Mash, and The Purple People Eater so those are all there!  Don’t forget - I broadcast the show live in ThatStation Radio Live at 9am EST (world clock) on Saturday! There’s a chat room that you can come into, I’ll be there, as will loads of other listeners.  (Loads may be an exaggeration.) A good time is usually had by all, and the music is usually pretty good too!
