I have got to stop watching to much TV.
This is ridiculous. I don’t even have time to finish this freaking post.
man.
Since Feb 1st I have had one day off. I am working full time (plus) and we’re trying to move into a new apartment. Originally we were told we could move in last weekend (the 17th and 18th.) Then we were told that they would be doing the carpets on Monday the 19th, and we could move in the evening. Nope. Now we’re at “some time this week.” Our official move in date is March 1st, so at least we know we can count on that. ;-) Our current apt is kinda empty and really messy. My husband parents will be here tomorrow at noon, less than 24 hours from now. This are a bit stressful around here to say the least. We are trying to use this as an opportunity to clean up our lives a little bit, pare down stream line the whole apartment. I am glad that we are doing it, but it’s a lot of work. I just neep a nap, and a ice cold Pepsi please, every day, several times a day, and I’ll be JUST fine. :-)
I am doin a live show this week! In honor of Black History month I have picked an entire show of black artists. I’m going to start the show with an iTunes free single - Can We Fall In Love Again by Darien Brockington, and then I’ve got artists such as Akon, Bob Marley, Etta James, Kanye West, Norah Jones, Ray Charles, The Roots, The Sugar Hill Gang and Will Smith. I’ve even got some comedy clips thrown in there. (Just cause I can, and it’s fun to laugh.) I am going to be playin a clip of Richard Pryor and Chevy Chase from a SNL skit. It’s brilliant! grin
I picked the music mostly on personal preference, so we jump all over the map. I think it’s gonna be a good show and hope that you come by! grin

So. Guess who’s got her own computer now? Weeeee! :-) Once again though it’s “used.” I say “used” though because WE just bought it in Dec for husband. Since after Christmas it’s MOSTLY been used by me so it’s all good. I didn’t want Vista so we decided to give husband the new one and let me keep the “old” one. I’m going to upgrade the soundcard on this laptop - I think it needs a name - today hopefully. I think it’ll be an external soundcard but hey, that just means I don’t have to pay someone to open her up.
I’m currently getting my show ready for Saturday - which of course since it’s the Saturday before Valentines day - is all Love Songs. I’m sorry, I’m a freakin cheese ball and I can’t help it! :-) I’ve got some Johnny Cash, Lionel Ritchie, Chicago, Tesla, Queen, America, Buddy Holly, Cake, k.d lang, Bad English, OMD and Frank Sinatra. As always I’ll be starting the show with the iTunes song of the week - which is “You Give Me Something” by a James Morrison. I think I’ve found an eclectic mix of music, without it being TOO saccharine. You should tune in on Saturday just to check it out! :-) (If you need/want more info, just comment and I’d be happy to tell you ALL about it. Probably even tell you MORE info that you want too, but that’s just what I do! :-)
We’re going to be moving next week so things are going going to crazier around here. My husband parents are coming into town on the 20th so we’d like to have the new place settled by then. I’m irritated that I forgot to do Trivia this week - but what can I say - my apartment flooded. ;-) I don’t think it’l happen next week either, but we’ll see. Now that I don’t have to share my laptop with my husband I will have a LOT more time to get things done. Hell - I may even be able to get a new design up here, a new design up there, and maybe, JUST maybe I’ll be able to get a new design up THERE as well. :-) OF course I have to fix the damn thing first, don’t I? Such a shame too, cause this month is the two year anniversary of the FFAF.
Did I tell you my apartment flooded? No? Well, it did. On Monday. Turns out an apt two doors down had some sort of plumbing issue and water leaked from there, to the next one, THEN to use. 72 gals of water out of the first, 42 out of the second and at least 12 out of ours. Our floors are still wet, but we’re moving soon. We’re gonna move about 1foot in the southern direction, with the water having come from the north. The apartment is exactly like ours, just flipped backwwards. Oh, and it has ceiling fans which I’m wicked excited about, and we’ll have new carpet and newly painted walls. The BEST part though, and I don’t mean that sarcastically at all, is that our rent is going to go DOWN when we move. It’s amazing and I don’t quite understand it - but it’s going to go down about as much as it was going to go up before when we resigned the lease Our official move in date is listed as 3/1 but we’ve been told that as soon as the new tile and the carpet are done we can start moving in. Part of our things are already over there as we had no place to put them when the carpet was soaked. It’s been a crazy couple of days so far. :-)
Oh my GAWD! So, about a month ago I made a call regarding a letter from a certain gov agency that pays money to one of my clients each month. Let’s call it MFP :-) Well MFP said that they needed correct information about Clients address, phone number and bank account. I called, gave them all the info, and asked specifically if I needed to see an actual person in an office. MFP said no, and that everything would be fine and the check would be deposited as normal on Feb 1st. Well, today is the 5th and there’s no check. I called MFP and said and asked what was up. Turns out that they had all the correct info they needed, even back in Jan, and that there was some other reason that the checks would be stopping. AFter a 40 min call to the national MFP office I was told that I would at least have to call the local MFP office and it was possible that I would have to go IN to see someone, and they can’t even tell me what the holdup is with the checks. About an hour ago I called the local MFP office. I have YET to speak to anyone. I just keep hitting zero to speak to an operator. And the “find a local MFP office” option isn’t working on the website, and the address I have from before isn’t working. Jesus McFucking Christ! I don’t even know what they need, or why they need it, I just know they stopped the money and that’s bad. grrrr
updated : I did get this worked out. it took until Wednesday too. turns out someone manually flagged the account for something about the address. basically THEIR little snafu cause MY client 70 bucks. Hosers!
