Thirteen (more and more) Things about Luka (and my family.)

  1. I bite my fingernails.
  2. I am the oldest child in my family. I am 29. My brother Ben is 26 and my brother Elliot is 22.
  3. My eyes change colour based on what I’m wearing. Sometimes they’re green, sometimes they’re blue, and sometimes they’re grey.
  4. I met and fell in love with my husband when I was 18.
  5. I have been married for 6 years as of Aug 3rd.
  6. I haven’t colored my hair since last Christmas.  It’s naturally brown and now the added silver streaks.  (Which I like btw.)
  7. My parents married in 1974 and they’re still married (to each other.)
  8. I have two cats.  A girl cat named Kayce and a boy cat named Kaos.
  9. I have a weekly iRadio show - called The Saturday Morning Show.
  10. I received a Bachelors degree in Child & Family Studies from Northwest Missouri State University in 2000. Once a Bearcat, always a Bearcat!
  11. I am not a big van of the veggies. I could never be a vegetarian, I’d starve to death.
  12. The first record I ever bought with my own money was ....And Justice for All by Metallica. My mother was NOT pleased.
  13. In terms of cousins, I am 5th from the oldest on my mothers side, and 5th from the youngest on my fathers side. (Both of my parents are 5th born in their family, and both my immediate family, and my husbands immediate family are made up of 5 people.  Mom, Dad, 2 boys and a girl.)

I stole this idea from Colin, and I’m posting it REALLY late, but next week it will be earlier.  This week I’ve decided to share the song Satellite by Dave Matthews Band. I’ve always loved the idea of this love song. It reminds me of high school, and weirdly, a good memory surrounding a boy that broke my heart. Hope you enjoy the Tuesday Tuneage.

Thirteen (more) Things about Luka

  1. I do not know how to ride a bike.  As a daredevil child I rode on the front of a bike, and the driver rode us into a wall. That was the end of that.
  2. I drive a stick shift. I didn’t learn until we bought our current car. I had to learn on the same day we bought it, and had to go back to work the next day.
  3. I do not have a passport and have never been out of the continental US. (I do plan to change that.)
  4. I have never had surgery. *knock on wood*
  5. The first time I ever flew on a plane with was without my parents, I was 12, and I had to have a flight attendant stay with me at the airport until our offical chaerons came to get us.  I was made cause my friends didn’t and THEY got to run around the airport.
  6. I have never broken a bone. *knock on wood*
  7. I have a scar on the bottom of my chin. I tried to jump backwards into a pool, like i’d seen my cousins do, and I wasn’t big enough so I jumped down and slammed my chin into the edge of the pool.  Boy, did THEY get in trouble.
  8. I was in a local (but still mostly greek) sorority in college - it no longer exists. It was called Tau Phi Upsilon. They merged with a national sorority about a year or so ago.
  9. I took Ballet for 5 years.  I quit because I stood out too much, I was tall and curvy.  I SAID I quit to join the swim team. That lasted about 2 weeks.
  10. I cannot read music even though I was in the band in Jr high, and in the Bahai community choir. 
  11. For 2 years in elementary school I had French lessons every day.  I’ve taken lessons in Spanish and Latin and ASL (American sign language). I liked Latin and ASL the best.
  12. I was a library assistant in junior high, high school AND college.
  13. My first job was at an amusement park. I was a ride operator.

a vlog on Aug 8th 2007

So, internets, I did another video blog.  There’s music underneath this one. Classical music as done on a synthesizers. It’s pretty cool, if i could toot my own horn ;-) P.S The music bed was kinda soft, as Pandora pointed out, so I added the mp3 to the entry.  It’s a nice song, and good music is good for the soul.
