a tribute to William “Billy” Bernstein
image
Five years ago today a man named William Bernstein 44, of New York, N.Y. died in the attacks. Billy, as his friends and family called him, worked in the World Trade Center as a mortgage bond broker. He was by all accounts a great guy. He was funny, and he was compassionate. He was a guy you could “live your most embarrassing moment in front of, and still laugh about it.” I don’t know much about Bill’s family, but I do know that he was a twin.  Bill was described as” funny and super nice. He kinda was like the infamous ‘nice guy’ that you’d want to marry someday.” The world lost a “good one” that day, and today I honor him and his memory. Billy, as I like to think of him as well, has been honored several places on the web. 9-11 Heros, and Terrorist Attack.com. Much of the information I obtained for this tribute was information from September 11 Victims. Billy was a guy I would have had in my family, and I sincerly hope that his actual family is doing well. I hope that they can remember him with fondess and laughter, and not sadness and rage at how he was taken from them.  Billy died on September 11th 2001, but will forever be in my heart and memory, and on this blog.
