actual resolutions for 2005

With a little help from a smokey treat and a wine fruit soda*, I have come up with some new years resolutions. Normally I don’t post resolutions. My standard line for that is always “I don’t share them because they are like birthday wishes - if you share them they don’t come true.” Which, as you may already know, is a complete little bit of bullshit.  I don’t share because then I can’t hold myself responsible when/if I don’t complete them.  I’ve always just assumed I wouldn’t and not even really tried.  Not this year. Not in 2005.

  • Buy all the Beatles albums. I’ve got The Beatles 1 and some of The Beatles Anthology, but I want to get all of them.
  • Read one book a month.  First I’ve got to finish off “Harry Potter & Philosophy.” But I will take suggestions for further books. I do want to try to read a Freud book and a Jung book.
  • Walk the treadmill 30 minutes at least thrice weekly at a bare minimum.
  • Enjoy game night with my husband one a week.  Video games do not count.
  • Beat husband in at least one game of Trivial Pursuit - a full game - all 6 wedges - with no cheating.
  • “Company is coming” clean my house at least twice monthly.
  • Try one new vegetable weekly and a new fish at least monthly.
  • Blog resolution progress weekly.
  • I reserve the right to add any resolutions to this list at anytime.

I’ve even created a category for resolutions.  This entry is the first in the category.

Tonight the hubby and I played Trivial Pursuit. He won, twice really. Since we said we were going to three wedges and he won, and when I asked to go to six wedges he won. I was the first person to get to the center after getting all my wedges. It was really REALLY close.

Last night and the night before hubby and I hate trout. It was very yummy. He made, what I thought was a butter sauce, but it was a much lighter, much healthier, mustard sauce. The trout was very good. Nice and light. Sort of like my beloved Salmon.  It was quite good.  The butcher at Publix from whom we bought the fish, was really cute too :) Of course, that’s neither here nor there ;)

*Fruit Wine Soda.

  • 1 part pino noir
  • 1 part cranberry juice
  • 1 part ginger ale

This drink is so yummy it’s easy to forget it’s got alcohol in it. :)

They're not wedges, they're "cheeses". So there. I've witnessed arguments about it. People died*.

*Not entirely true. Drinks have been spilt though.
