I’m currently listening (online) to the community radio station in my hometown. My father has his own two hour slot now. Tonight is his first show - he’s calling it Highway 71. I think I’m gonna call here in a bit and ASK why he’s calling it that. I have a feeling that there’s something significant. :-)
I’ve confused people with my credit giveaway on the Trivia. The deal is, you get 10 credits for participating and getting at least one answer correct. You CAN guess all 10, but not only would that not be fun to anyone else, but you’re still only gonna get 10 credits.
I’m very excited. It turns out my dream of a 10 year HS reunion is actually coming true. :-) Turns out that my classmates really HAVE been planning something - even though I pretty much was shut out of the planning - and it’s going to be held over Labor Day weekend this year. I can’t wait! At first when I got the email about it I thought they meant Memorial Day, which would have meant I likely couldn’t go. But, hot damn, it’s like 4 months from now. That’s plenty of time, and I’m fuckin’ goin! ;-) And here in a couple weeks - the weekend before my birthday - a group of us are gonna go camping! We’re going for about 3 days and we’re camping in tents on the beach. Well, technically it’s not the beach, but we can walk to the beach from our plot! Whoo Hoo we get to surf! ;-) I can’t surf with a board, but this one time I had a damn good time body surfing! :-) It’s the best part - being right on the beach! Sleepin on the ground for 3 nights, and being outside without AC in May, in Florida, other wise wouldn’t be worth it. It’s already at 90 during the days now, or at least it FEELS that way. And I’m not just exaggerating. My freckles are SO gonna rock!
I love getting the titles for posts from the music I listen to. Thanks Papa! ;-) Oh, y eah. I almost forgot. I took on a new Renter today. His name is Irvine, and he’s in the sky with diamonds. (Just like Lucy!) He’s Four; loves to paint and draw and create images with anything that produces colors, so his mom has helped him make this website. So, check it out iv’e got the chance. :-)

Now, I can’t tell if you can cheat by using Blingo or Google, but YOU can. So. When you make your guess I will assume that it means you didn’t cheat. Thanks! It’s an honour system of sorts.

P!nk, that glorious songstress with the pink tresses, has a new album out. It’s called “I’m not Dead” and it’s got several great tracks on it. Now, I’ve been a fan of P!nk since her first album - “Can’t Take me Home” which was released in 2000. (Her other two albums - M!sundaztood and Try This! are also great.) I’ve purchased several tracks from this album already, via iTunes. Alecia Moore, P!nk’s given name, is a real talent. And that woman’s got brass balls. One of the tracks on her new album is called Dear Mr President. It’s a powerful message to our beloved leader teh Shrub. “How can you say / No child is left behind / We’re not dumb and we’re not blind” I get all tingly when I just listen to the song, but I was totally blown away when I saw video of a version she did live in NYC. I saw it posted up on You Tube*. It’s fucking amazing. Check it out.
*Technically I saw it posted on Perez‘s blog first.
Every dang day since I put up that screen I thought about what I could be, or should be writing in here. I’ve decided that running away to hide won’t do me any good. I won’t get my muse back by NOT trying to write anything. Maybe it sucks, maybe it doesn’t; I don’t care anymore. I miss it. I miss blogging and writing and doing things on-line. I did do some organization before I opened the site back up. I moved nearly ALL my posts into one category, and better organized the ones that are left. Currently I’ve got 10 categories, but I know that I will be adding more. I just can’t decide what I want to call them. I should have thought of THAT before I did THIS, huh? ;-) I think I’ll do some surfing today, look at blogs that I really like, and see how they’ve organized things. If you’ve got suggestions, let me know. I take those. :-)
Things I missed talking to you about since I’ve been gone
The new Dixie Chicks song - “I’m not ready to make nice”. {link} It’s DAMN good! The video is breathtaking. If you like the Dixie Chicks I’m sure you’ll like this. A couple years ago these girls got in some hot water over some things that lead singer Natalie Maines said regarding George Bush. (Things that were right on the money as far as I’m concerned.) Fans turned against them, radio stations stopped playing their tunes. This song; reaction to that hot water. It’s poignant and beautiful. I’ve listened to it at least 10 times and I still get chills and goose pimples when I listen.
It’s Birthday Season! Birthday Season, for me, officially opens the month before my birthday. That was Monday. Currently there are 26 days and 15 hours until my 28th Birthday. And why YES that IS a count down on my sidebar. And a link to my wishlist. I can be shameless about gifts. But what girl DOESN’T love to get things in the mail! ;-) I will be 28 this year; I can’t quite believe it actually. I can remember my 17th birthday party, AND my 19th, but I don’t quite remember my 18th. I will have to think about that actually. Still - I’m excited! ;-) I love my birthday. And it’s LESS than a month away now! ;-)
Happy Four Twenty Day. I won’t be celebrating on time today, but I certainly plan on celebrating. Oh, you don’t know the significance of 420? Read this and be schooled.
