Fact 003
I am Cherokee. {wiki} On my fathers side, I am 1/116th. It’s a reeeealy small amount, I know. But I’ve got a card that says I am part of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. I really don’t know much about that part of my history. Little bits of pieces. But I’ve always felt connected to it, at least in a small way. Some of you may remember this, but I do have ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War - the winning side too! ;-) {link} Mostly I am of English and French decent, a lil Irish thrown in there for good measure. I’m pale, pale pale, with light eyes and hair. {most recent pic} I’ve colored my hair red for as long as I can remember, but recently I’ve been letting the brown grown and and come through. It’s a light brown though - like my mothers. And my grey, yupp, it’s growing in just like hers too. (Side note - I actually want to color my hair again, but I dont want to cover the pretty silvers that are showing up on my right temple, just like hers. I’m torn. Maybe I should take a poll.) I don’t think I really look Cherokee, but I am. Even if it’s just a little bit.
Fact 002
I am a horrible procrastinator. I procrastinated writing this entry by messing with the Blogarity Project Forums. I’m procrastinating doing case notes by writing this entry. I’ve always been this way. It’s usually when it’s something I really don’t want to to. Of course - who waits to do things they LIKE to do! ;-) In college I did an internship* over the summer of ‘00. I was to graduate in Dec of 00, and it was about 2 weeks before graduation that I turned in the portfolio for that project! This trait IS something I would like to change in myself, but I’ll do that later. :-)
*The internship was at a day care. It was an awful experience. I knew then that I had NO desire to work with children or in a day care setting. Awful. Awful. I got an A on the project though. I’ve still got the portfolio, and it’s really cool! ;-) I’ve got art work from the kids and pictures of them and everything! ;-) They’d be nearly 10 now those kids.
So, I’ve seen it around. I’m not going to promise that it’ll happen in 100 days, but i can promise it’ll be 100 posts!
Fact 001.
I was born in Kansas City Kansas. Other than being born there I’ve never lived there. I’ve had a job there though, several atually. My parents lived in Kansas City Missouri when I was born, and I lived there until I was 23 and married. I lived in the same city until I was 18 - Kansas City. Missouri has the better Kansas City, as far as I am concerned. Jackson County people rock, and Johnson County people are assholes. :-) KCMO is bigger than KCKS too. As of the 2000 census, the city has a population of 441,545. As of the 2000 census, the population of KCKS was 146,866. See, TOOOLD ya it was bigger.
