it’s getting deep in here, 42

How amazing is it that all I have to do is ask for love from the world and it’s given.  Thank you.

Karma isn’t just the perfume I wear, it’s how I live my life.

If the answer to the ultimate question of the universe is 42 - then the ultimate question is what’s your sleep number? That’s not right.

i used to take ballet.  I quit before 6th grade. This was one of the 2 costumes from last performance.  Which was in the summer before 6th grade. That makes me 11 in this picture most likely.  I was a cornflower. In this same one I was ALSO a star fairy in a ballet of Peter Pan.  My husbands little sister was Tinkerbelle in that performance..  we didn’t know each other yet.

green poetry, on the 34th post
image
Ode to Karen and the Summer

June wore her green dress, long her favorite color
the color of her ancient Roman clan
Roman Green
June wore her green dress...as my finger traced a soft essay
upon your perfect back

June wore green
Karen wore blonde
and all around us was light

the solstice was the turning point- solstice curve
poignant as the course of the sun through our summer bodies

the season of the short-lived beings
dead through the dry folds of winter
to flood to life in green vigor
I’m green as a frog, green as any new bug rushing or Mayfly lingering

June’s nephews, July and August, were lulled to boredom
by wine and soft days
and left us the blessing
to wallop and play in the gardens

Karen on a summer sidewalk
or a tv show
or a dream in the light
or green eyes
