Once AGAIN I’ve forgotten the FFAF. Just this morning I was thinking “Shit, could today be FFAF?” Then I was all “ No, way. There’s gotta be at least ONE more Fri in Nov.” Although I don’t know why I thought that. Maybe Dec will be when I get the Freeforallfriday.net site up and running. Somehow I doubt it.
I’m spending my evening trying to get my show ready for tomorrow. I’m doing music from myspace. Unknown, Indies and Signed Artist. No particular theme other than I liked the track - and maybe that they’re also now on my Friends list. I’m having trouble with connectivity issues, so it might be a half a show of this theme, and a half of something else that I’d have to decide on if that happened. Prolly covers - cause they seem the most like left overs. :-) Tune in tomorrow to find out! ;-) 9am Eastern ThatStationRadioLive.com If you’re into it - come into the Chat Room - it’s always wicked fun in there! :-)
Today is Nov 17th. It’s my “half birthday”! :-) Basically it means that starting tomorrow, my birthday is officially CLOSER than further away! :-) It’s the very VERY start of “The Birthday Season!”
So, where’s my presents?! ;-) I kid. I kid. But - ya know - Xmahanakwanzika is like 6 weeks away, yo! :-)
Ya know what’s fucked up about today?! Nothing. The fact that I’m on 25 peeps IS FREAKY though!
Another thing that IS a little Freaky about today is that it’s my six year Blogiversary! On Friday, November 10, 2000 I made my very first BLOG post. Three of them actually. And they’re all equally lame! This post makes my two thousand and thirty seventh post on this blog. I’ve recently started a new blogging plan, to keep myself bloggin on a specific topic six days a week! It seems to be working ok - the Trivia still seems to be the most popular! I was hoping that the songs I post on Theme Thursday’s would get more of a response, but what cha gonna do! :-) I might have to change up the themes, or whatever I call them, for the days - but having something specific to blog about really has helped! :-)
Over the last 6 years the way I blog, why I blog, and who I blog for has changed significantly. It started as a small extension of a personal homepage, and then morphed into something of it’s own entity! Well, at least in my own head anyway! I really think of this site as...well....Blogtainment. But since I made that word up, no body really knows what it means. I’m not even sure that I know what it means. :- ) I do know that I wouldn’t be me without this blog, AND it’s readers/commenter’s/writers, so I thank you! It’s an amazing community the Blogisphere - and I am lucky to be a part of it! :-)

Ya know what I think is fucked up? That people are still paying attention to Kerry’s botched Bush Joke, Kerry isn’t even running for anything. The Republicans are just running scared grabbing on to anything that they can because they’re about to be pushed out of control and they don’t like it. We all know Kerry’s a stick in the mud and shouldn’t try making jokes on his own, but gosh love em, he keeps trying anyway. Here’s the original text he was SUPPOSED to read and NOT The flubbed line he made during the actual speech.
Emphasis mine. I think it’s pretty damn clear who that joke was about. And it CERTAINLY wasn’t the good men and women who are serving in the US forces in Iraq.
And this is his response to conservative nut job mock outrage at his so called degeneration of the troops.
“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they’re crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.
I’m not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq . It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.
The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.
Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because they’re afraid to debate real men. And this time it won’t work because we’re going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq .”
No, Thank YOU Senator Kerry.
