segway, that’s a thing george bush fell off of right?

I didn’t take as many photos on my camping trip as I would have liked, but it got dark about 3 hours after we got to camp, and taking pictures is the dark with my bright as the sun flash isn’t very much for people so I didn’t.  I took about 9 pics and posted them this morning in my flickr stream.

I had this weird dream last night.  The main boy character in my dream was an amalgamation of three boys I know. Two of which I haven’t seen in a while - “JG” I saw last September and “CS” I saw 2 years ago this May.  I emailed them both this morning - maybe one of them will write me back.  I also emailed Nicky - who I haven’t seen in forever - we were supposed to get together in September - but he bailed on me - twice.  Now, of course, I can’t get any of those 4 boys out of my head.  Or the dream.

Oh. Yeah. It’s Monday, and usually I do trivia. I am not sure if I will do it today when I get home or not.  I do have a post I want to do. Some meme thing where you post one sentence for each year you’ve been alive; and that sentence is something that happened to you that year. I’ve seen it on a couple of blogs and have been encouraged to write my own version of it. Could be fun.

oh gibbidly gook my cowardly lobster

Camping, as you might have noticed, was a LOT of fun! ;-) I did get a little sunburn, but not bug bites* to speak of.  I’m wicked beat, but I did take some great pictures. We ended up sleeping at Ocala National Forrest, on the sandy ground. We had far too much food, but it was yummy and no one went hungry. Somehow we came home with 4 kind of beer, none of which was the kind of beer we took out there. But it’s all good. There were 5 tents about 13 people and two dogs. At one point there was another person and another dog, but they didn’t sleep over. I didn’t drink any of my strawberry vodka; I was far too intoxicated already. my poor car needs a bath in the worst way. I’m going to take it out tomorrow and have it washed and detailed. It costs a little more to do it that way, but then I don’t have to vacuum it out , but it will get the sand out.  We don’t so much like the sand.

* I do actually have three bug bites on each foot. But I got those Friday night when I went to meet friends at an outdoor restaurant. I looked fierce, especially my feet; especially to the misquotes.  Next time I will have to spray the tootsies down; itchy feet suck.

I hate everything about you, why do I love you

I’ve got an idea for a fun contest - one for BLEX credits, since we can transfer credits now. But I want to try and get a new skin done BEFORE I put up the fun contest.  I’ve been looking for an image to use in the skin - and haven’t yet found anything good.  Husband and I are going camping this weekend; I don’t know if we’re going Fri nite for Sat nite yet, but we’re def going. Turns out, due to his lateness in planning, ALL the state parks are totally booked.  We’re goign to camping on some land of a colleague’s or something.  I’m still looking forward to it. I hope that we go Sat, that way I will have time to get all the things I need to get done before then, and also not be rushed like a son of a bitch.  Plus - tomorrow nite on Sci Fi it’s the season finales of Stargates Sg1 and Atlantis. Don’t REALLY want to have to wait till Sunday to see those.  Oi.  The camping should be fun though - it’s gorgeous weather for it right now.  Not quite 80s in the day time and 60s at night.  Perfect S’more weather.  (For which I purchased 2/3rds of the makings for.  I still need the chocolate bars.) Eh. We’ll get it all worked out I’m sure; it’s just a P.I.T.A right now.  I hate last minute planning for things this big - it’s make me nutso. More nutso that usual too, which is never good.  I would say that I hope to get the skin done tonight, but I’m sure it won’t be till next week sometime.  Then the contest. Basically it’s going to be a combination of my regular trivia and some “test your Luka knowledge” trivia with the prizes all being BLEX Credits.  If you aren’t a BLEX member already, you should go sign up - it’s a traffic portal and I get not only tons of traffic but also great interactions with the other members.  It’s free to join, and while you will be able to participate in the contest without being a BLEX member, it just won’t be as fun. ;-)

as the droll goes on

I spent the morning catching up on some paperwork. Yesterday morning I did the filing and today I did the writing. Just being a good coach, really.  I turned on the tv to have some background noise - it was easier than music - and I didn’t change the channel. Hubby had been watching the cartoon network when he last turned off the tv, but all I cared about was the noise as I wasn’t really watching anyway. When the hubby came down to get ready to head out to campus, he asked me what I was watching* and then switched it to CNN.  (*It was some really weird cartoon for little kids when I was first up.) Once he left, about 20 mins and a nice coversation later, I switched it back the cartoon network.  I’ve just left it that way. Scooby Doo - the original - is on now.

So come on Freddy, tell us, like, what’s the plan?  What if we loose the dog nappers? Our direction finder will do the rest. Scooby’s got a point there.  Won’t cha Scooby? Now, here’s some Scooby Snacks for courage.  Cause I know who’s stuck with taking the decoy on a leash. Now, here’s a snack for you Scooby.

lol.

a picture of nine women
cousins femme
Every day I see this photo.  It’s attached the side of my monitor. It’s pretty small snap of it so the faces are pretty blurry, but it’s how i see it out of the corner of my eye anyway.  The important bits are the numbers. There are nine girls in that photograph. The numbers are in age order, with nine being the youngest. Oh, that nine, is me.  I am not the youngest cousin, but I am the youngest girl cousin.  This picture was taken sometime in 1985 or 86.  I think I was about 7 or 8, but I could have been younger. It’s a copy of a photo taken by an aunt - most likely Cousin 6’s mom.  I was gonna do a whole post detailing info about each one, then I thought better of if. Not all the stories are happy ones.  Cousin’s 3 & 4 are twins, and cousin #3 is no longer with us. She passed away about 4 years ago.  Cousin #6 has only one lung and has more balls* that any guys I know. (*because she has a row of pingpong balls in her chest.) Cousins 1, 3, 4, and 5 all have three kids each.  Cousins 7 & 8 are sisters and have one kid each.  Cousins 2 & 6, and then me 9, don’t have any children.  Cousin Eight is developmentaly disabled and has been most of her life. She’s doing well in a group home, but it’s hard for her to see her sister raise her daughter, and she can’t raise her son. Their kids are 6 mos apart. Cousin Four has lost two brothers and her twin sister. The only three cousins that have passed away since I was born have all been in her family. She’s doing as ok as can be expected, I think.  I don’t have a picture of all the boys, but there are 13 boys.  Each one of the girl cousins has at least one brother, but 4 boy cousins (2 sets of brothers) don’t have sisters. Only 4 of women have even been married and only one of us are married now. It’s just amazing how different we all are, and what we’ve done with our lives. Not to mention how alike we how, in terms of personality and belief structure.  I am closest the Cousin #6 though.  I miss her a great deal, and am looking forward to moving back home so that we can hang out on a more consistent basis. She knows that too - so it’s all good. ;-) I guess I went pretty far into detail with this, didn’t i?

i never knew that every thing was follow through

It’s high time that I pimp out my renter for the week. This week I’ve rented to jfarber, or boyhowdy as he’s known on his blog.  His blog is called ”Not all who wander are lost” and this is what he had to say about it via his BLEX profile…

Cybersociologist. Father. Teacher. Poet. Audiophile. Pondering media, education, communications, parenting, culture, community and self on the web since 2002. Come for the content. Stay for the voice. Now with language!

You should go check out this blog though - it’s supercalafraga---fuckit. It’s rad

you like me, you really really like me

it’s nothing if not disturbing.  my Oscar acceptance speach.

Thank you! Oh! Thank you! I can hardly believe this! I feel so lucky! And this statue - it’s so full of chocolate! Oh, thank you again! I just want everyone to know that even in my wildest hallucinations, I never would have made daddy promise that this could ever help me get laid so much. And to the other brilliant nominees, I want each of you to know how totally mega-pumped your jealosy makes me feel right now!

You know when they first told me I was nominated, I just had to take a Xanax and laugh about how freakish my experiences have been. I guess it all just makes me feel kinda special

You know, there are so many ass-kissing Napoleon Complex-suffering studio execs to thank! First off though, I want to pay off the self-congratulatory circle jerks of the Academy, who looked deep within their cold, black hearts before giving me this fantastic award! Also, I want to thank Charleton Heston, for being such a powerful force in my loins. And to the People Under the Stairs, who taught me to take life by the fifth of bourbon. And finally, to all the Producers I slept with - I couldn’t have done it without you!

Thank you America, and good night!
