Happy Zombie Day!* I am not Christian, and wasn’t raised Christian so I don’t celebrate the Religious nature of today. I do get together with friends and/or family and hang out together. Right now I’m at my friends Phil & Tess’ place eating duck, and eggplant, and salad, and soup and homemade bread. (I actually wrote this post earlier, and just future dated it.) Another one of our friends, Robert, called to make sure we had someplace to go today. That was very sweet of him! :) My hubby and I don’t have any family here in Tampa - all the rest live in Kansas City. I called my parents house today and got to talk to both brothers, so that was nice. Both are doing well. The baby will be 20 on Thursday. TWENTY! That just amazes me. I remember when we brought him home from the hospital. So small. He was all pink and orange (since he’s a red-orange-head.) Thursday is also hubby’s brothers birthday. His brother will be 24, which is the age my other brother turned in January. Yah. It’s crazy. I know :) It’s all about the family, right? :) Turns out my Grandmothers 85th birthday is in Sept and my family is doing the whole “surprise party” route for her. In fact - my aunt and uncle who live in France will be coming in for it too. It’s a good thing It’s 6 months away. Plenty of time to get the money together for the 2 plane tickets. My family did this for my grandfathers 80th in April of 2002. It was in New Orleans rather than Kansas City though, since he lives in Baton Rouge. I do think he knew about the party though - so I am not sure if this one for my Mamarie is a surprise. It should be fun - birthday parties with my family always are! :)
*Zombie Day - The only day in which someone can rise from the dead and not terrify everyone it comes into contact with.
