I finally finished HP : Order of the Phoenix last night. It was good. I loved it. After the hubby reads it again, I will be reading it again too.
I will put my ramblings about the book in the extended entry to protect those who are reading and don’t wanna be spoiled. It’s not strictly HP talk.
I really feel badly for Harry in this one. He learns so many things that are painful. He's angry a lot, but after the last 5 years it totally makes sense that he is angry. I would be too.
He REALLY doesn't understand women/girls at all. But that's typical of a 15 year old. I remember being a 15 year old girl and thinking 15 year old boys were DUMB DUMB DUMB! I would have been a sophomore in HS and all my boyfriends were older than me. I've gotten distracted.
It sucks that Sirius is the one who dies in the book. He was the closest thing Harry has to a brother/father. Granted the Weasley's have become his surrogate family, but Harry knew his dad. I wonder...Did Mr Weasley know his father too? And Mrs Weasley. I reckon they are older than The Potters aren't they - with Ron and Ginny being their youngest. (I hate Percy.) I cried, but I was spoiled, so I knew it was happening. There were other times I cried - when Cho kissed Harry. When the twins left.
I have so many more questions now. At least we know why Harry HAS to go back to Privet drive each summer. Dat's some damn strong magic.
I wish that Harry had the chance to tell Snape the truth. About why he wanted to look into the pensive. Harry just wanted to see his father, his mother. He never got the chance to know them - I would want to look too. Snape is so self centered sometimes it kills me. I have this hate/like thing with Snape. Sometimes he's ok, other times I want to kill him. If he hadn't gotten so mad at Harry and stopped teaching him occulemncy Harry wouldn't have fallen for Voldermorts trick. Snapes selfishness cost Harry a great deal. Cost a LOT of people a great deal actually. But at least he sent people after him. It could have cost Harry his very life.
I don't really get why the prophecy is important. I mean..it's just a prophecy right? How can it help Voldemort kill Harry? I mean, we know that it's "kill or be killed" with the two of them, but how does that HELP either one of them?
Have you read this book? Are you going to? What do you think of it, if you HAVE read it? Have you read any of the other ones?
That's It.
