This is exactly the question I had for one of my essays for college entrance, except I had to pick one.
I think I ended up picking Alan Turing. He’s the guy who people claim is the father of modern computer science. I was on a Turing kick back in high school.
If I had to add three more, I would add author Neal Stephenson, who coincidentally wrote about Alan Turing in one of his books. Also I’m a big fan of Neil Gaiman, who authors comic books as well as a bunch of other things you’re probably familiar with if you’ve even heard of The Sandman.
The fourth is tough, because I really don’t know who I’d like to have dinner with. I guess the obvious choice is my grandfather, who passed away when I was 10. I remember that he was always very wise, like a grandfather should be, and I would like to talk to him about the person I’ve become and the person he was.
