i am no longer using the comment pop up. i decided that having the smileys show up was my goal; and this is how i accomplished it. also. i will most likely go smiley crazy in the next few days - now that ive added a smiley pop up to my entry screen i want to use every smiley ive got 
I should prolly add the inline "show comments" option - but i will have to find that tut first. 
I also need to fix my archives page. it looks all funky, and not the good kind of funky. i also want to add a listing of the months and of the category's - like on the side bar, but all laid out flat. looks like ive got lots and lots of work to do
